Meditation is an experience that cannot be described in words, it takes years to understand its nature. Meditation, Dhyana in sanskrit, is a powerful technique in which the practitioner focuses the mind on one object, thought or activity. It is the core of all the yoga practices and must be performed on a daily basis at a regular time, proper place and in a comfortable steady position.

Our meditation techniques at Omkar are very grounded and simple for someone who has never experienced the bliss of meditation. The individual can focus either internally or externally to reach the meditative state gradually. The tools used for external focus can be a pure object, candle flame, nature etc, For internal focus breath and mantra are the most common tools that connects body, mind & spirit.

Multitude of benefits can be gained from regular meditation practices. Over the past decade Neuroscience have discovered the numerous benefits of meditation practices like stress reduction, emotional balance, peace, happiness,dissolution of false ego, and in spontaneous healing of chronic and psychosomatic diseases.

The Year 2017 marked a new beginning in my life when i took an intensive 8-weeks Yoga Teachers Training Program at the Sivananda Ashram Grass Valley and there after envisioned this dream together of creating a pathway to preach authentic classical yogic knowledge – Omkar Yoga Studio.

Our teachings are based purely on the classical yoga sutras Eight-limbed path{Ashtanga Yoga): A safe and step by step approach to reach the goal of self-realization.
